Beliefs - We Have Sinned

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, "You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."
Genesis 2:16-17

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.
Genesis 3:6-7

Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned...
Romans 5:12

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

We have separated ourselves from God.

Adam and Eve did not choose God's way. They did the one thing God instructed them not to do in the Garden of Eden.  And they aren't alone: the Bible teaches that "all have sinned" (Romans 3:23) and disobeyed God. That's why there's pain, death, and trouble in the world.  When it comes to sin, there's no reason to brag, and no reason to judge others. We have all sinned and deserve to be separated from God forever.
