Sin, shame, and chasing after all the wrong things may have led you to think you’ve severed yourself from the vine. But the Holy Spirit is alive and well and can begin a new work, a new shoot, a new branch in you. That new life in the vine can move you from fear to love, from despair to joy, from anxiety to peace, from stress to patience, from anger to kindness, from pride to goodness, from jealousy to faithfulness, and from fits of rage to gentleness. This is what God does. This is what the Divine Gardener is continuing to do for all of us. Will you let him go to work? Will you believe again that your life can be fruitful for Christ, that you can abide and rest in his love and his joy?
