As we just passed by Veterans Day, it seemed appropriate to tackle a theme brought to us from the battlefield. This one happened to be one of the bloodiest battles of WWII. Yet the stories doesn’t focus as much on the destruction of war, but on the desire to take a stand in an effort to rescue and save even in the face of violence. We live in a culture so prone to violence and violence to combat violence. However, the message of the Gospel is not hostile and rage-filled, it is a message of aggressive rescue through the flames and smoke and destruction.
