William Barclay wrote, “Prayer is not an escape from reality. Prayer is not a secluded meditation on, and communion with, God. Prayer and action go hand in hand. We pray, not in order to escape life, but in order to be better able to meet life. We pray, not in order to withdraw ourselves from life but in order to live life in the world of men as it ought to be lived.” How do we become people who prayed that way over others, or have people who prayed that way over us?
Before we leave this season of thanksgiving, will you consider how your prayers may adjust your lens and how you can see the blessings of this year as stepping stones to the blessings that are ahead?
