A New Creation
There are so many images and thoughts regarding Easter. Some of those pictures in our minds can be brutal and cruel, images of beating and suffering, a picture of the cross. There are secular notions of bunnies and candy or hunting for eggs. Some of the visions we have about Easter may be about the season itself; thoughts of springtime with flowers and green leaves, the rebirth that occurs in nature. It is the last concept Paul calls us to focus on, becoming new. As he states in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come. When Jesus conquered the grave, when He beat sin and death, everything changed. A promise of “New” was made. We are a new creation.
