Our Greatest Day

On such a magnificent day as this is in the history of First Christian Church, it’s easy to think of God’s greatness and His faithfulness. He has been faithfully guiding this body of Christ from building site to building site, drawing us ever closer to Him. Through the years He’s provided ministers and teachers who’ve told us amazing stories from the Bible of how great He was in the lives of His children. From the moment He “created heaven and earth” in Genesis 1:1, we read of marvelous acts of His faithfulness—guiding the Israelites for 40 years through the desert into the Promised Land, parting the Red Sea, proclaiming the upcoming birth of Jesus to Mary, willingly giving His Only Son to die on a cross for our redemption, resurrecting His Son so that we would see the hope that we have through Him. Among those pages are stories of so many people who saw His greatness, His faithfulness in their lives. Among the pages of your life can be found stories of His greatness and faithfulness. Has He brought you through an illness, a trial of some kind, a rough day at work, a trying day as a parent, a long day as a student, or a heartbreaking event? To see His faithfulness, His greatness, all we have to do is open our hearts and eyes to look around. His love for us is everywhere all the time and we didn’t do anything to deserve it. We just had to accept it. Isn’t God great!
